Danfoss Nessie Water Motors

The Danfoss Nessie water motor program consists of the MAH, MVM and APM motors. MAH motors for high-speed applications are based on the axial piston principle. The MAH motor has a coated aluminimum housing with stainless internal parts. The MVM-motor is a new low-speed-hightorque water hydraulics motor designed according to the vane motor principle.

Water Motors
Water Motors - MAH MVM
Danfoss Nessie MAH 4/5/6.3 and 10/12.5 are high-speed motors operated by water hydraulics. The hydraulic medium is ordinary tap water. The motors are based on the axial piston principle that enables a light and compact design. The water lubricates all movable parts in the motor, and there is thus no need for special oil lubrication.
The motors vary in size from 4 cm3 to 12.5 cm3 per revolution (rated displacement).
The maximum operating torques vary from 8 Nm to 25 Nm and maximum outputs from 3 kW to 8 kW.
Details:
•Geometric displacements 4, 5, 6.3, 10 and 12.5 cm3/rev – available in 2 frame sizes
•Min/Max shaft speed range 300 to 3000 (4000) rev/min
•Max continuous pressure up 140 bar / 2000 PSI
•Max operation torques 8 – 25 Nm / 5.9 - 18.4 (lbf.ft) and maximum outputs 3-8 kW / 4-11hp
•Constant torque over a wide speed range
•Fluid: clean tap water (10µ absolute filtration, ß-value > 5000)
•Fluid temperature 3° to 50° C / 37° - 122° F (60° C at 100 bar / 140° F at 1450 PSI)
•Ambient temperature 0° C to 50° C / 32° - 122° F
•Reversible for short periods
•CW and CCW versions
•Non-corrosive materials

The MVM motor is hydraulically balanced to enable a high starting torque and smooth operation at even very low speed.

The SWPE is a high efficiency energy recovery unit for reverse osmosis filtration of seawater. Energy recovery is achieved by high-pressure brine from membranes being feed into the recovery device The unit consists of an APM motor and an APP pump, both connected to a double shafted electric motor.Nessie SWPE motor/pump
Energy recovery is obtained when high-pressure brine from the membranes is fed to the APM that converts the energy in the pressurised brine to mechanical energy to be re-used by the electric motor. As the APM has a fixed volumetric displacement, the recovery rate will be fixed.
The SWPE are available in sizes from 4-30 m3/day with recovery rates between 20%-32%. Other sizes are available upon request.
